Wamp server working perfectly 2 days ago..
now it wont start apache server..
i went to windows services manager and tried to start wampapache manually but it wont..
Port 80 is open
somehow apache service wont start..
tried to remove and install service.. no change..

i recently installed tune-up utilities because my computer was running slow.. and i am kinda sure that it broke my apache server.. how? i have no clue..

tried uninstalling/installing.. any help will be appreciated..

"Tuneup Utilities" and all his "brothers" of the same type are "suckers grabs." They are completely useless, they are dangerous; alot install malware and other crap. They do a lot more harm than good.

Go in the Apache logs and Event Viewer to see what exactly are the error messages.

Hi,

- 1 - Delete all files from wamp/tmp/ folder.
- 2 - Verify than the ONLY active line(1) in windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file is

127.0.0.1 localhost

Plus, if your system support IPv6, the line

::1 localhost

An active line does not begin by #

Still no luck.. There was one file in TMP folder in wamp.. which I deleted.

My system supports ipv6 so i added a line in host file...

Still same error from log...

It is impossible to know what the damage caused by "Tune Up". Is there "undo" function with this (bad) software?

Undo was the first thing i did.. even before creating the thread.. so i am stuck unless i reinstall windows?

Yaaaaaaaaaa... Got it working.. Installed standalone apache from apache dot org and now wamp is green...

sfc /scannow

this verify all Windows system files. Il there is a problem, you will be ask to insert original DVD.

the msi installer from apache fixed the issue.. probably wamp was unable to properly install the service or something after tune-up messed it up.. none the less.. all good..
