IIS and apache/wamp are both web server and both use port 80, so you have to disable IIS in order for wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista:

Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart wamp

Try this:

Left click on wamp tray icon, then MySQL, then my.ini to open this file, then:

Find:
default-storage-engine=InnoDB

Change to:
default-storage-engine=MyISAM

Save file and restart wamp to take effect

Upon wamp restart I noticed in cmd window:

A system error occurred

wampapache could not start

error 1067 occurred

You might have a corrupted install file; try t get the one on my website and reinstall it

I uninstalled, stripped everything I dared from registry.

Re-installed.

All 3 r working!!!!!


I didn't have the option of selecting the doc_root folder.

Which file do I edit to correct this?

In the g:\websites dir, reside hello.php and test.php files

Neither of the files work. Blank screen.

No horizontal jitters

The icon in the tray comes on red and turns yellow.

SQLite comes up ok.

PHPmyadmin come up ok.

this shows that u have another copy of apache running and its not using the one included in wamp,,,

wamp icon should be all white... if urs is yellow and ur sure mysql is running then ur apache is not running..


please either disable this other apache fully or change wamps apache to run on port 8080

I looked in processes under Task Manager and no Apache.

Changing port to 8080 did not help


Earlier, someone had me change default-storage-engine=INNODB to default-storage-engine=MyISAM..

no no no this is mysql .... mysql is working i think...


ur wamp icon shud be white... if its yellow.... left click it ... go to apache..service. see if Start/resume is aviable to click and check MYSQL too



which every u can click to start is the one thats not starting,,,



u need to sort this out first

By using default-storage-engine=MyISAM, both PHPmyadmin and SQLitemanager work


8080 gives unable to connect

80 gives forbidden

Thanks to all who help.

After changing port to 8080, did you set permission for that port in firewall, restart wamp and try "[];?
