WampServer

Hey, i'm just wondering if theres a way I can leave my PC running with WAMP online and then access the WAMPserver from a friends PC?

yes its possible...


u need to find out if u have a static ip... if u do its very easy to do

if you dont then u need to use no-ip or another similar softare to constaly update ur ip address and mask it with a url


also ur isp may block port 80 so ul need to connect using a different port such as 8080 and then set up a port forward in ur router to reroute 8080 to 80

Can you state it more clear? You want to remotely access your websites running on wamp OR remotely control and manage wamp server?

What i want to do is use WAMP as a server basically, the first post helps a lot many thanks

do u want to be able to use the server?i or just view pages that are running on it?

You could use Dynamic FreeDNS I use it quite sucessfully without problems

BUT THEIR IS ALWAYS SECURITY ISUESS as to accessing your computer or your wamp local server remotaly

I have the link to my local server on a pasword protected and encryipted webpage on my remote website
it saves using no ip or dydns
it might be worth a look

you might also have to change some of the script but it works well as long as you are aware of the security implications
