A question and a request.

My www directory contains folders with Swedish letters - åöä - and are not displayed correctly in the directory list of localhost. How do I fix this?

Can I get a copy of index.php in english?

The project folder should be Niome-Kusegård.

I'd thought of that. but adding that line to the beginning of index.php ?? doesn't do anything.

Did you install Swedish language pack for Windows on your computer? If not, it might not show properly no matter what browser you use; I had to install Eastern language for my friend's computer so he can use Chinese

Problem fixed. Thanks for the suggestion. I switched the browser encoding to Western European!!

I have no problem viewing Swedish language pages in the browser using the normal UTF-8 so I don't understand why this particular index.php requires a special encoding. I still think it is something to do with this new version of Wampserver. I had no problem with the previous version.

Many thanks again

Just a follow-up. I retrieved the index.php file from the previous version of wampserver and sure enough the Swedish characters display correctly! I've compared the two files and can't see what might cause this. Any ideas?

The file is at [niome-kusegard.com]

old copy is encoded with this content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"

new copy is encoded with this content="txt/html; charset=utf-8"

now theres your problem!!!

well done on bothering to find that
