WampServer

Hi,

WAMP worked on Windows 8.0 but I tried to install it on Windows 8.1 and it will not install.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Does anyone know if WAMP will be updated to function with Windows 8.1 and when that may occur?

In what way does it 'NOT INSTALL' ??

Have you done as required and make sure you have all these Microsoft C++ runtimes installed before doing the install ??

Please make sure you have the latest version of all of these Microsoft C++ Redistributable runtime libraries.

The 2008 Redist is used by wampmanager
The 2010 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )
The 2012 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )

FOR WAMP 32bit

If you are using WampServer 2.4
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
And select vcredist_x86.exe

Yes you need the x86 Package regardless

Since Win 8.1 is an update to Win 8 and if you had WAMP running before updating, I'm not sure why you'd be re-installing WAMP anyway. I had zero problems going from 8 -> 8.1.

You also need to be a bit more explicit on what your problem is other than "it won't install".

Figured out the problem was the need to install as Administrator. Thanks for your help.
