MySQL and PHP

I've installed Wamp5 and have verified the install of mysql and the installation of php.

However, I can't seem to configure php to talk to mysql.

I'm running Vista ultimate x32.

I've edited the path to include c:\wamp\, c:\wamp\php and c:\wamp\php\ext.
I've confirmed that the php_mysql.dll file is accesable and that the php.ini file includes install directives for php_mysql

I suspect that the solution is quite simple but I'm not suffeciently familiar with the scripts or ini files to fix it myself.

Can anyone provide assistance?

Thank you,
Crispen

I'm running win vista too, but I didn't edit to include any path since it should already associated after successful installation of wamp, and it works perfectly as seen here:

[test.jlbn.net]

So suggest that you should undo anything you edited, then create a test db account including db, user, and password, then run a small test similar to my test page to check it

Have fun,
