Thanks to help from Ash I now have WAMP working and located at c:\wamp\ in a toally standalone situation with Windows XP Professional.

I'm now trying to establish a connection through Dreamweaver and I think I am misunderstanding the site setup informtion which is as follows:-

Local Information
Local Root Folder: c:\wamp\www\site folder name\

Remote Information
Access: Local/Network
Remote Folder: ? should this be the same as local root folder above?

Testing Server
Server Model: PHP MySQL
Access: Local/Network
Testing Server Folder: ? I'm not sure what this should be?
URL Prefix: http//local/host/

My aim is to set things up for one site on my standalone PC with no FPT uplead to learnt PHP MySQL.
My level is beginner.

I am assuming if I can get the site definition right then my MySQL Connection will work.

Can someone help please?
