Just installed wamp, the icon colour is yellow, port 80 is being used by apache, clicking localhost the page with server configuration opens normally, but clicking the phpmyadmin the page "welcome to phpmyadmin" opens with the following text:

#2002 - ??????????? ?? ???????????, ?.?. ???????? ????????? ?????? ?????? ?? ???????????.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

What can I do to solve the problem?

I do this to myself all the time. Have you rebooted your computer?

Yes, of course.
I give here some more info.
Installed versions are :apache 2.4.2, php 5.4.3 et mysql 5.5.24 for windows 7-64.
The icon switches only from red to yellow and rests in this yellow.
If I navigate to localhost the page showing server configuration opens normally.
If from that page, as well ( as from the icon menu) I click phpmyadmin a page opens showing the following:

Checking the port 80 answers that it is occupied by apache 2.4.2.
If I click webgrind, a page opens telling:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /webgrind/ on this server.

The same happens if I click sqlbuddy.
If I click phpinfo the corresponding page opens normally.

Well I think that MYSQL has not started.

Look in the Mysql error log and if nothing is in there look in the windows Event Log for messages from MYSQL.
That should identify what the problem is,

Thanks to your suggestion I could solve the problem.
Looking at MySql log I saw that my computer name included strangely two question marks (??), evidently due to some mistake. I suspected that such characters could be not accepted by MySql and I elimated the.
After this change Wamp started working perfectly.
