can anyone tell me what I need to do to get cute ftp to connect to my WAMP serve on my network do I need to set anything in wamp. as all I get is a time out

You would need an FTP SERVER running on the WAMP PC as well as WAMP.

I woudl look at FileZilla, they have a Server and a Client and its fairly easy to setup the server as well.

YOU DONT NEED FILE ZILLA
just put the files in c:\wamp\www


if you want to put the files onto your pc remotely you need FILEZILLA SERVER and open the port in your firewall in router
