Wampserver 2.2 with Apache 2.4.2 on windows 7 Home Prem. using wordpress.

Hi, I am trying to get virtual hosts to work. I followed all of the steps listed in the forums, and what happens now is when I check my site from a different machine, from a different network, I get "Index of /" and the files for the 2 web sites I have in there.

I edited the host file and the httpd.conf but not sure where I am going wrong.

Before trying to set up virtual hosts, everything worked well, no problems.

I would greatly appreciate any help, thank you.

I decided to use a clean httpd.conf and start over using the link RiggsFolley from the last response.

Now when I try to access my domain from inside (localhost) or outside (through my cell phones network--not wifi) I get "Forbidden, you dont have permission to access...."

When I type just localhost in my browser I get "ooops chrome cant connect", same from clicking localhost in wamp.

Below is the vhosts conf and httpd conf as is now, after following the directions Riggsfolley linked me to.

Also I did edit the "Host" file in administrator mode using note pad. (Shift, right click, administrator)

By specifying 127.0.0.1 on these entries you are saying that the vhosts should only exist if accessed from 127.0.0.1.

the tutorial said use *:80 i.e. any ip address.

Try doing as it suggests in the tutorial and then when that works try tweeking it to fit your other requirements.

I put that back to *:80 on all three areas on the httpd.vhosts (I dont know if its anywhere else) and no change. still get forbidden permission denied.
