Whenever I make Wamp run in php4 mode, I can't access the database using the username I made. It is possible to access it with the root user, but the seperate one I made does not work.

(I made the config.inc.php for phpmyadmin use http instead of config as well for the password. As I don't want anyone to be able to just walk in and delete my databases winking smiley)

And before you ask, yes, I am typing in the password right, and my user has full permissions. And I did try reinstalling and redownloading Wamp a few times but it never helped.

does the same thing happen when you are using php5?

ps> there really is no increased securiy using http versus cooike for phpmyadmin. most webhosts use cookie, not http. I prefer cookie myself, I like having a login page to login to virsus the http promt.

I figured it out last night. One time after I switched back to php5 it asked me to change my mysql password so that it was compatible with older versions. That did the trick. smiling smiley
