Cannot access http://localhost/

I'm trying my hand at php, and was directed to wampserver.com from a tutorial on lynda.com.

I've installed the software package, and the php4 addon... and everything seems to be running (at least according to the little odometer) but when I try accessing [localhost] my browser just spins in circles looking for it.

There is no "error page" or cannot find server response... my browser just simple searches forever. Do you think there is a chance you could help me straighten this problem out?

Thanks very much

Hi I am getting the same result as you, it says page cannot be found. Could this be because my computer is not part of a network and not connected to the internet? I am trying to run it locally how can i do this?

If there are folks out there that want to know what UseCanonicalName does or will help them fix some apache problems:

Apache 2.2.x Documentation
[httpd.apache.org]
