Problems with MySQL 5 and Cerberus

Have installed wamp with MySQL 5.0.17 and now keep getting problems installing cerberus helpdesk component. It falls over in creating a field in the database. On my hosted account, where they have MySQL 4.x.x it installs without a problem.
My question is, is there a workaround for this problem, or is it possible to have, just as for php (an add-on which allows u to switch between php 4 and php 5), something to switch between mysql 4 and mysql 5?
