I just installed Wampserver on my computer - Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but none of the services will start. I read some of the problems others were having and I did the Test Port 80 under Apache services and got the following message:

Your port 80 is actually used by: Server: Microsoft-HTTAPI/2.0

I am trying to use Wampserver for a class I am taking in PHP.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

That message from the port 80 test means you have IIS installed on the PC. IIS is another web server ( from Microsoft ). So it also wants to use port 80, you cannot have 2 web servers running the default port on that same PC.

I would suggest uninstalling IIS. You can do this using windows control panel -> Programs and features.
Click the link in the left menu saying 'Turn windiws features on and off' and Untick the main 'Internet Information services' tick box. It will have a think and then ask you to reboot.

Try the port 80 test again after doing this

I did this as suggested, rebooted the computer, but stil getting the same message when I test port 80.

Is it possible that another application starts up a web server or takes port 80?

Yes there are various bits of IIS and other stuff it uses.
Look for all these and uninstall if you see them

1. IIS
2. Web Deploy 2.0
3. MS Sql Server Reporting service.
