Merci
Why should i go by DOS to reconfigure MySql server access? I don't know how to use DOS screens, makes me run away (LOL). All i want is to delete that "root" user and start-over with a new one....
Is there a windows way to reconfgure these stuffs?
----------------------------------------
CREATE USER;
par exemple
CREATE USER lui@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'mot_de_passe'
That's funny... you say forum is in English?! This is the French forum?!?
Anyway, glad xampp is working for you.
Just to mention... there is way greater support for French here, probably because Rom (who wrote wampserver) is French and has a French forum. You will not find French forum for xampp ...for those times in future where you may run into more challenges (or maybe I overlooked it? ;^)
And there is no French tutorial I could locate for xampp either, so no comparison there... but I have to admit, I found it strange I could not find something similar to jlbn for the French.
Another funny thing... I learned more here in the french forum than in the english one OR the tutorials... and I do not read French! I have to use a translator!!
----- I have found the people here to be most helpful and giving over the years. I am sure anyone who practices a little patience and provides specifics for a problem will obtain the help needed within short time, whether here or at joomla forum too.
Also, and ultimately, if you run a server for very long, you will need to learn more about it, and more about the application products you run with it. That it works the first time you install it is great, but happens about half the time for anyone new to using any of these applications. Point being... sooner or later you will run into needing a little patience, and drudging thru details - everyone does.
These advise will be no less significant for you when you tackle problems in future with xampp or any other apache 'wrapper' offering.
------ I make these comments more for posterity for anyone passing by, as I would not want someone to get the wrong idea from incomplete information presented in this post.
Something else... you can translate any webpage to your language using Google.
Two common methods (if you do not use the Google Toolbar) are...
1) Translate an entire web page directly from Google Translate, simply by entering its address (e.g. "www.google.com" into the input box and clicking Translate.
The Translater will follow you thru clicked links until you close it.
@bagu... Peut-être que vous essayez l'humour, ou peut-être mal compris? ...
