This is a bit of a weird one

We are currently running 3.4.1 and it is installed using the latest 3.4.1 installer with the update PHP 8.2.30 after the recent previous installer had those missing files causing the left/right click to not work
We updated from 3.3.8 to 3.4.1 on this particular machine.

The machine is used as an internal test server rather than a local dev machine, used to just allow for some internal testing of in development code.
The only difference between this machine and a local development machine is that we have set Apache up with multiple listener ports
Each port runs a different version of PHP via FCGI functionality. We have 5 PHP versions runing 8.0 -> 8.5.
8.0 is listening on port 80/443, and the other versions are on the 4xxxx range

3.3.8 everything worked fine Apache/MySQL running ok, installed 3.4.1 and the wampmanager.exe tray icon neverappears, the loading splash screen animates indefinitely.

Apache/MySQL services are starting up fine if we start them via windows services, and Apache/PHP versions all work in the manner id expect. Nothing I can see is causing a problem there

What I have noticed is the wampmanager.exe and its child processes in taskmananger were all using 0% CPU

Going along with this I checked each and saw one cmd.exe indicating that it is waiting for httpd.exe of a specific PID.
I can see this with taskmanager, right click and analyze wait chain.

Force Closing that httpd.exe didnt initially help, but the wait chain indicates a new httpd.exe with a new PID. If i close/check/close/check a couple times eventually the cmd.exe closes and the tray icon then appears and becomes active.

It feels like this cmd.exe is hanging or waiting, maybe its hitting a httpd.exe which has a version of PHP that, whatever its doing, returns an error, or something that stops it completing.

I can, on that machine, reproduce this at will. All the redistributables are the latest, including the Visual C++ v14 - 14.50.35719.
3.4.1 installer is the latest as of 2 days ago.

However i cant seem to cause the same situation to happen on a fresh machine, installed with the same versions on wampserver, and with the same httpd vhost setup.

I have a work around, (e.g. start wampmanager, kill httpd.exe 2/3 times) but it would be great to work out what is calling the hang up. Do you suggest anything i can check/provide?

Suite à une erreur, le répertoire c:/wamp64 a été effacer. Je n'avais pas de sauvegarde du répertoire, seulement des sources et de la base de données.
Je n'arrive pas à installer à nouveau wamp64, l'exe considère wamp64 déjà installé.
La désinstallation windows ne fonctionne pas, l'exe a été effacé.
J'ai enlevé les entrées wamp64 du registre et effacé les services wamp64 (apache, mariadb et mysqld).
L'application a disparu de la liste windows mais pour autant le problème subsiste, impossible d'installer à nouveau.
Que dois-je faire ?

Does anyone know how to perform WampServer actions - e.g. switching MariaDB version - in a Windows script (batch or PowerShell).

I have a backup script for all my work, and I want it to be able to switch the MariaDB version, in WAMP, before performing certain actions, then switch back to the original version.

Can you invoke wampmanager.exe with certain command line arguments to perform taks that are avaialble in the WAMP menu? If so, can you tell me how?

Bonjour,
J'ai installé en mode administrateur Wampserver 3.4.0 64 bits après contrôle de tous les prérequis. (installation packages VC++, etc ….).
Installation dans D:\wamp64
Après installation, clic gauche sur l’cône, une fenêtre s’ouvre pour indiquer que les services sont en cours de démarrage.
Au bout de quelques secondes, un message indique que tout est prêt et que les 3 services sont démarrés …. Et ils le sont effectivement, j’ai vérifié avec la commande services.msc.
Mais l’cône ne passe pas au vert et un clic droit sur l’icône n’ouvre aucun menu.
Et pourtant tout fonctionne, locahost me donne accès à l’écran d’accueil wampsserver indiquant la configuration du serveur, les outils, alias et projets.
Un projet unique = un site wordpress local (duplication d’un site live) qui fonctionne parfaitement avec le lien localhost/monsitewordpress
J’ai parcouru le forum mais je n’ai pas trouvé de cas similaire où tout semble fonctionner mais l'icône ne passe pas au vert et le clic droit sur l’icone reste inactif.

Hello,
Just as an info for all early adopters of PHP 8.5.5:
This version is no longer able to handle: $ch = curl_init().
It throws a fatal error, as 'curl_init' is titled as a call to an undefined function.
Also discussed in several Internet forums.
Obviously not a bug in WAMP's latest update 'wampserver3_x64_addon_php8.5.5.exe' ,
as all my PHP scripts are working well with 'wampserver3_x64_addon_php8.5.4.exe' .

As of the PHP 8.5.5 change log, it is offered as a pure debug version . . . really?

As a workaround, just copy the script
wamp64\bin\php\php8.5.4\ext\php_curl.dll
and paste it into
wamp64\bin\php\php8.5.5\ext\php_curl.dll
Afterwards restart your WAMP server.

This is not a solution but a short-handed intermediate workaround.

The most recent version of PHP available in WampServer 3.3.0 is 8.2, and I need at least 8.3.
I have started the Update process, but I get various warnings. Firstly, I get 'Cannot check wampserver updates'
Cannot get contents of file: 'https://wampserver.aviatechno.net/last64_versions.txt
but it appears when I enter the URL
I also get a warning about Visual Studio versions. I can't find it on my machine, but I presume it was needed for 3.3.0. Is this the case, or is the use of Visual Studio a new feature?
I don't suppose it will crash my machine, but I don't want to run the risk!
Any advice is welcome

J'ai installé WampServer 3.4.1 entre hier et ce matin (voir ici : [forum.wampserver.com] ). Tout fonctionne bien avec MySQL 8.0.43. Mais quand je veux basculer sur MariaDB avec clic droit > outils > inverser SGBD par défaut, les paramètres se réinitialisent mais l'icône reste orange : je n'ai que 2 services qui se lancent. J'ai testé plusieurs fois. Si je reviens à MySQL par défaut, tout fonctionne.

Info et config :
1 - Windows 10 64bits
2 - WampServer : version 3.4.1 - 64 bits aujourd'hui
3 - version Apache 2.4.46
4 - version PHP : install' de PHP 7.4.33 aujourd'hui
5 - version MySQL nstall' 8.0.43 aujourd'hui

Mon problème : je suis en vacances depuis qq jours, avec PC portable Windows 10. La version de wamp était un peu ancienne, j'ai voulu mettre à jour.
J'ai vérifié et installé les paquetages VC++ vcredist_V14_x64 et idem en 86. Puis j'ai téléchargé et installé (en administrateur) wampserver3_x64_update3.4.1
Et idem pour la version MySQL 80.40 et PHP 7.4.33 car je voulais ensuite installer PHP 8.2. pour avoir la même config qu'à la maison.

Tout s'est bien passé en apparence, et quand j'ai relancé WampServer, j'ai bien l'icône verte. Mais dès que j'ai voulu aller sur PhpMyAdmin , j'ai les 4 warning sur fond orange et impossible d'aller plus loin.

NB 1 : tout fonctionnait bien avec la version précédente de WampServer, j'ai sauvegardé ma BDD avec MySQL 5.7.31 avant de faire les MAJ
NB 2 : je précise que je n'utilise pas de virtuals hosts → à l'époque où j'avais installé WAMP (en 2012 ?) ce n'était pas obligatoire

Merci d'avance de m'expliquer pas à pas ce qu'il faut faire, j'ai certainement loupé une étape ...

J'utilise MariaDB 11.2.2 et je m’aperçois que je ne peux plus (parce que j'ai des utilisateurs custom) créer d'utilisateur, j'ai ce message : L'utilisateur n'a pas les privilèges nécessaires pour administrer les utilisateurs !

Starting a few days back, when trying to check for updates, the window says:

But if I copy and go to the text file, it is there, rendering properly. I disabled firewall and antivirus protection, same error.

I have just installed WAMP Server 3.4.1 (from 3.4.0) and the icon in the system tray no longer responds to left clicks or right clicks. I have restarted my PC and re-installed Tray Menu Manager 3.2.7.7 (it told me that version was already installed, but I continued anyway), but the same outcome. Hovering over the icon in the system tray has the tooltip "WAMPSERVER - All services are running" and sure enough the web server is running just fine, but alas! No way to access any settings. Any ideas?

For your information, prior to the install I was also using Apache 2.4.66.3, PHP 8.5.4, MariaDB 12.2.2, and Phpmyadmin 5.2.3. My PC is running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit. The Wampserver icon in the system tray remains green.

Je viens d'installer update Wampserver 3.4.1. L’icône Wamp est verte. Si je déplace le curseur sur l’icône Wamp un pop up dit en anglais que tous les services sont démarrés mais une clic droit ou gauche n'ouvre aucun menu déroulant.

Y a t'il une solution. Ou bien faut il réinstaller la version 3.4.0

Just a short suggestion for improvement:
It would be very helpful if you, as the developers, could publish something like a 'change log'.
Please, we do not have a problem understanding why we should install
wampserver3_x64_addon_php8.5.4.
But what is hidden under
traymenumanager3.2.7.5.exe?
We certainly don't need a bit-and-byte explanation. But a brief list of update improvements would be helpful to decide wheather to install.
Yes, I am also a software developer and know quite well, that a ‘change log’ would mean extra work for you.
Thank you for your continuous development of WAMP.

If I change the PHP version, it stays stuck on the same version in the Left-Click tray menu.
e.g. I change to 8.4.15
It updates httpd.conf and wampmanager.conf ok and makes the symlink to the correct phpForApache.ini
But the wampmanager.ini file is not update with the chosen PHP version, so the menu stays stuck, always showing 8.3.28
Cosmetic problem only, but it used to work fine. Broken in WAMP 3.4.0

Je suis parvenu à mettre en place HTTPS sur tous les sites Wamp de mon réseau local, avec adressage d'un ordinateur à l'autre uniquement par le nom de l'ordinateur, donc sans IP ni localhost, le tout en HTTPS et sans les alertes de sécurité des principaux navigateurs Edge/Chrome/Firefox/Safari.

Pas simple.

Implementing HTTPS over a LAN with Wamp

Hi everyone

I've been struggling to implement HTTPS in Wamp-powered websites over a LAN (Local Area Network)

The requirement is the following
        Computer1 hosts one or several Wamp-powered websites
                \path1a\
                \path1b\
                ...
        accessible through
                https: //computer1-name/path1a/
                https: //computer1-name/path1b/
                ...

        Computer2 hosts one or several Wamp-powered websites
                \path2a\
                \path2b\
                ...
        accessible through
                https: //computer2-name/path1a/
                https: //computer2-name/path1b/
                ...

        etc.

Please note that I've inserted an extra non-breaking space before each // to make URLs readable on this page.

Also note that paths *may* be the same, eg. path1a=path2a, allowing to test the same site under different settings, eg.
                https: //computer1-name/path/
                https: //computer2-name/path/

Problems to solve
        How to let one computer see another computer's sites, without using IPs (which are subject to change as we all know)?
        How to get this working through HTTPS and without permanent "security warnings" from Edge/Chrome/Firefox/Safari/... ?

I came up with a complete, working solution that I wish to share.

For illustration purpose, I also detailed the related configuration of WordPress, easily adaptable to any CMS (Drupal, Joomla,...).

WAMPSERVER INSTALLATION DETAILS
        Windows 11 Home 25H2 up-to-date
        Wampserver 3.4.0
        Installation directory: D:\wamp
        WWW root directory: D:\wamp\www
        Apache 2.4.65, meaning that the Apache directory is
                D:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.65\bin
        Adapt the following to your needs if different.

WORDPRESS INSTALLATION DETAILS (for illustration purpose)
        WP 6.9.1 FR+EN
        WP root directory: D:\wamp\www\wordpress, meaning that WP sites are located at
                D:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-site-1
                D:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-site-2
                ...

MAIN IDEA
        Because of the LAN sticky access requirement, neither IPs (not sticky) nor localhost (not networkable) can be used.

        The built-in Wamp HTTPS specific settings cannot be used either.
        Trying to do so just destroyed the installation (parse errors, conf errors, etc.).
        And unfortunately the destroyed installation(s) could not be recovered, neither by reinstalling (rejected by the installer because of an existing installation!) nor by the tools provided on the Wampserver official site.

        A working solution obtains by making a fresh new installation and complying with the following rules:
                1. Do not use the Wampserver Tray icon for *setting* anything, only use it as checking interface
                2. Always edit configuration files yourself and run commands yourself from an admin CMD or PS prompt
                3. Most important: let the entire HTTPS configuration be stored in a conf file that is understood by Apache but ignored by Wamp (!)

SSL VIRTUAL HOSTS SETUP
        Hereafter "wamp-computer" refers to any of the above computers running Wampserver, with Windows name "wamp-computer-name" and IP "wamp-computer-ip"

        Repeat all steps below for each computer running Wampserver

        During the following steps ensure that
                1. Wampserver is NOT running
                2. the Windows account that you use has Administrator privileges, in order to be able to run anything "as administrator"

        Windows reminder for newbies :)
                "run as administrator" is an execution context that is granted to accounts which have Administrator privileges.
                Thereby it is *not* a change of user!
                Of course, the built-in Administrator account has Administrator privileges, hence can run anything "as administrator"
                If an account has no Administrator privileges and tries to run something "as administrator", it will be prompted to enter the credentials of an account which does.

        SSL/HTTPS reminder for newbies ;)
                SSL (Secured Socket Layer) is a certificate-based network protocol ensuring encryption of transmitted data
                Technically, the standard TCP port (Transmission Control Protocol) for SSL is 143.
                HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) aka "the web" is ensuring transmission of data in plain text, suitable for direct display by a web browser
                Technically, the standard TCP port (Transmission Control Protocol) for HTTP is 80.
                HTTPS is simply HTTP with SSL as the transmitter, ie. it is an "encrypted web protocol"

                You do not need to master these concepts (I don't), just to know their names and what they do.

        The following steps allow to implement HTTPS in two different but compatible configurations
                1. Implement a master SSL virtual host
                        https: //wamp-computer-name/
                yielding (almost) the same output
                        http: //localhost/
                as a default Wamp installation, but *only* when opened from the wamp-computer itself.
                Here the Apache DocumentRoot (on the wamp-computer) is
                        d:/wamp/www

                2. Implement a specific SSL virtual host
                        https: //myvirtualhost/
                yielding (almost) the same output
                        http: //myvirtualhost/
                as a default Wamp installation, but *only* when opened from the wamp-computer itself.

        It is perfectly possible to implement only *one* of these configurations.
        However the choice has been made to implement configuration 1, with an option to implement configuration 2 additionaly.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STEP ORDER IS CRITICAL!

[STEP 1a] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
Edit (as administrator)

[STEP 2] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
Edit (as administrator)
        D:\wamp\wampmanager.conf
and ensure that
        NotVerifyHosts = "on"

This is mandatory to prevent Wampserver from overriding "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts"

Also, a recommended cosmetic choice is to let
        LinksOnProjectsHomePage = "on"
in order to be able to click on projects on Wampserver Homepage.

Regarding HTTPS, it is also recomended to let
        httpsReady = "on"
        UseWampHttps = "on"
        AllowLocalhostHttps = "off"
to align the present manual settings with the Wampserver Tray display.

But beware: do NOT configure any HTTPS setting from the Wampserver Tray (sorry about that).

[STEP 3] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
From Windows search bar type
        Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security (in English)
        Pare-Feu Windows Defender avec fonctions avancées de sécurité (in French)
and click
        "Execute as administrator" (in English)
        "Exécuter en tant qu'administrateur" (in French)

Then, in the Firewall console
        Click "Inbound Rules"
        Click "New Rule..."
        Select Port "TCP"
        In "Specific local ports," enter "443"
        Select "Allow the connection"
        Ensure that ONLY "Private" and "Public/Domain" are checked
        Click "Finish"

This will allow other computers from the LAN to see
        https: //wamp-computer-name
and websites under it, eg. the WordPress sites described above, because HTTPS operates on port 443.

[STEP 4] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER: FOR THE MASTER SSL VIRTUAL HOST AND FOR EACH SPECIFIC SSL VIRTUAL HOST (IF ANY)
Open an admin CMD prompt on
        D:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.65\bin
and execute
        openssl req -x509 -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout ../conf/key/wamp-computer-name.key -out ../conf/key/wamp-computer-name.crt -days 3650 -nodes -subj "/CN=wamp-computer-name" -addext "subjectAltName=DNS:wamp-computer-name,DNS:localhost,IP:127.0.0.1" -config ../conf/openssl.cnf

This lets OpenSSL (always installed by default with Apache) create the essential Windows certificates for handling SSL.

REMARK. The certificate lifespan lies in the "-days 3650" switch, standing for 10 years. Other possibilities are
        "-days 365" (1 year) to stay on the safe side
        "-days 825" (roughly 2.2 years) because some browsers would throw a "Security Warning" beyond this threshold

For a specific SSL virtual host replace "wamp-computer-name" by "myvirtualhost" in the above.

[STEP 5] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
Edit (as administrator)
        D:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.65\conf\httpd.conf
as follows

        Username        : (the http username)
        Password        : (the http password)

For each existing WordPress project, check that
        Settings > General point > WordPress Address (URL)
        Settings > General point > Site Address (URL)
point to an HTTPS address

[STEP 11] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
Irrespective of the creation of a master SSL virtual host and specific SSL virtual hosts (in any), check that for each existing WordPress project

and ensure no ghost references to previous SSL Virtual Hosts remain by executing
        httpd -t

Open an admin CMD prompt anywhere and test a single file without the GUI (but with the full Apache power) by executing
        php -S localhost:8000

[STEP 12b] ON EACH OTHER COMPUTER ON THE LAN - OPTIONAL CHECKS
Open an admin CMD prompt anywhere and run successively
        ping wamp-computer-ip
        tracert wamp-computer-ip
        ping wamp-computer-name
        tracert wamp-computer-name

Open an admin PowerShell prompt anywhere and run successively
        Test-NetConnection wamp-computer-ip -Port 443
        netstat -ano | findstr :443

All these commands should return a no-error response

Else review carefully the setup step sequence!

[STEP 13] ON THE WAMP-COMPUTER
The above HTTPS configuration can now be addressed from any browser!

To allow to address it from the Wampserver Homepage too, here is a fix.
It is purely cosmetic indeed, replacing "localhost" under HTTP by the relevant computer-name under HTTPS

Ran install of downloaded wampserver3.4.0_x64.exe file as Administrator.
"Wampserver 64bit is already installed.
Installation will be cancelled."

I have 3 http websites running ok on WAMP so no problems there.
I have to restore a live Joomla https website to WAMP. The restore runs fine. But unfortunately the restored site does not run just a blank screen with a https url.
The php and mysql versions are compatible.
What changes do I need to make to allow the site to run at http?

Ceci est le chemin d'accès copié sur ces applications dans le destionnaire de services.
Quand j'essaie d'ouvrir Wampserver64,
le message suivant apparaît: Exception EAccessViolation dans le module wampmanager.exe en
0000000000A44D04 dans le module 'wampmanagert.exe'. Lectiure de l'adresse FFFFFFFF9E2E4B20.

Je ne vois pas la solution pour une icône verte.
Merci d'avance pour votre aide. Windows 11 Famille 25H2. La version de Wampserver est 3.4.

Je viens de mettre à jour la version de wampserver et j'ai téléchargé la dernière
J'ai aussi ajouté la dernière version de PHP 8.5.2
quand j'active cette version et relance les services, j'ai cette erreur :

Bonjour , je viens d'installer la derniere version sur win11, apres avoir tout desinstallé . Puis installé tous les package VC et wamp64 , le menu se lance bien , a la fin il indique que tout est lancé puis il s'eteint ... les process mysqld , mysqlsd traymanage.. ok, les services wamp..64, mariadb mysqld sont running

j'ai tout desinstallé , relancé l'install rien n'y fait toujours icone verte absente
que puis je faire ?
